Introducing the Nerot Giving Society

We are excited to launch a meaningful new initiative in 2025: the Nerot Giving Society.

We named our giving society Nerot — the Hebrew word for candles — because it beautifully reflects who we are and what we aspire to be.

In Jewish tradition, candles represent light, warmth, and spiritual connection. Every Friday evening, Jewish women have lovingly lit nerot to usher in Shabbat — a ritual of peace, intention, and sacred time. Each flame is small, yet powerful — lighting up a home, a heart, a moment in time.

Just like those candles, each member of our society brings her own unique spark. Alone, our lights are meaningful — but together, we shine even brighter.

Through Nerot, we pool our resources and our purpose to illuminate lives, support our community, and pass the light of Jewish values from one woman to another, one generation to the next.

That is the power of giving together.

Membership begins with a minimum annual contribution of $1,800 to our ignite campaign.
